Requirements
– Comprehensive understanding of Linux server architecture (eg. Ubuntu, Debian).
– Fluency in at least 2 programming languages (eg. C, C++, Ruby, jQuery, PHP).
– Practical experience with SSH and regularly maintaining and executing SSH commands.
– 7+ Years Experience maintaining game servers for large multiplayer online games.
– Obsessive interest in video games
– Ability to locate to Berlin, Germany for at least 6 months
Application Advantages
– Demonstrable experience building a server rack and/or launching cloud server instances.
– Provable experience managing servers for large audiences of game traffic (eg. 500k – 1 mill+ daily CCU).
– Ability to cope with inbound traffic spikes quickly and cost-effectively.
– Comprehensive understanding of distributed networks for online services such as MMO games.
– At least 10+ years experience playing online competitive games, such as MMOs or First-Person-Shooters.
Goals
– Integrate iterative processes into live ops, pre-production and production phases
– Submit regular smoke tests within 2-3 hours of receiving a new game build from the development team
– How-to guides and a general user manual for other staff members to administrate the servers
– Setup open-source community platform
– Implement internal task and project management platform for use by two international teams
